ULEFUNTA 2019; Olowa Felicitates With Deji Of Akure Kingdom


The Olowa of Igbara_Oke, Oba Dr. Francis Adefarakanmi Agbede at the weekend joined the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Odundun II to celebrate year 2019 Ulefunta festival.
Also, the Chairman, Ondo state Council of Obas, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Dr. Fredrick EnitiOlorunda Akinruntan, the Secretary to the state Government, Hon Abegunde Abena and top Akure High Chiefs were not left out in the celebration.

The Saturday festival which marks the Grand finally of a week long programmes of Ulefunta offers the people of Akure both at home and in diaspora the opportunity to felicitate with one another, thanking God for giving them the opportunity to see another year.
Indigens, non indigens, Articians and High Chiefs were not left out in parade to pay homage to Deji as they rejoiced and danced in appreciation of God’s grace for a peaceful coexistence with one another over the year 2019.


The Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Alhaji Abubakar Sa’ad had earlier flagged off the programme with a Lecture which he delivered at Federal University of Technology, FUTA, Akure , followed by Jumat service and a final Football match of Deji’s cup.
Other programmes were a Cultural Day and a Night with Deji at Deji’s Palace, while Oba Aladetoyinbo conferred Chieftaincy titles on Eminent sons and daughters of Akure kingdom.
In his speech, the Deji remarked that the cooperation and support of the people of Akure has helped in no small measure to sustain peace and development in Akure kingdom.
He however expressed appreciation to the Olowa of Igbara_Oke, Oba Dr. Francis Adefarakanmi Agbede, the Ilufemiloye Ogidi III and other well wishers for standing by him to celebrate the Ulefunta 2019.

While calling on Akure indigens at home and abroad to join hands to bring development to the ancient kingdom, he assured that Akure shall soon be a replica of a small London in the next few years.
