MWALIM DaPhunkee Professor returns to the Jazzy-House/ Afrobeat world to deliver the summer anthem, "PARADISE over PEACE", a tasty little house track featuring live jazz drumming by The ZYG 808. In a world of samplers, and computer generated instruments, it is remarkably rare to find a house music producer who plays real instruments, but all of Mwalim's work features real pianos, basses, a hammond organ, vibraphones, and real drums mixed in with the machines. "The first time I made a house music record, we used a real piano, tamborines, and congas. When I went to the house clubs, (speaking of the Soul Revival in Boston, Tea Party in Brooklyn, and Sanctuary in DC), we'd bring instruments with us and play along with the DJ. I wanted to revisit that vibe."

For the last ten years, Mwalim has been the keyboard player, vocalist and co-producer for the multi-Grammy nominated soul-funk band, The GroovaLottos, (a post he still holds.)

A 33 year veteran of the New England, New York City, and DVM House, Club and Afrobeat scenes, this elder statesman of the EDM world brings a unique flavor and vibe to the music of the dance floor, and has since his debut in the late 1980s. He is considered the 'Godfather of Southcoast Thump & Soul', a cross-genre musical movement of Black and Brown soul, jazz, rock, edm, hip-hop, and Afrobeat artists from the southeastern region of New England creating a scene for themselves.

The participants in the movement pledge to release a new song every month, and Mwalim is starting his on June 6 with "PARADISE over PEACE" followed by the instrumental cut, "OUT of the WOODS" in July. Get Mwalim DaPhunkee Professor - Paradise Over Peace below:-
