Born Opeyemi Oluwatobi Jimoh Lawal, to a Nigerian Father grow up in the Akoka Bariga suburb of Lagos. Yemo adds a fusion of the Nigerian music rhythm and Ghanaian alternative melodies to Afrobeats-Dancehall tune to make up for his funky-freaky style of music.
Yemo first shot at mainstream music came in 2007 when he featured on the maiden "Ur Luv" album of the dynamic music group 5Five in Ghana while under "Bullhaus Entertainment" in Ghana.
Yemo swept 4 Awards at the MTN 4Syte Music Video Awards 2012, He won Best Directed Video, Best Photography, Best New Artist and crown it all with the Overall Best Video on the night, with his video "So High".
Yemo was the highest Award winner on that night...in 2013 He was nominated for the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards in 3 categories, New Artist of the year, Afropop song of the year and Best Music Video of the year respectively.
Yemo also won overall best music video Awards at the BAZZ Awards 2013. Yemo has one album to his credit called " FaCe One".
