Lagos to London — After years of orchestrating chart-shaping records and sculpting sounds from behind the scenes, Yeankeyz is no longer just producing the moment — he is the moment. With his long-anticipated debut single “KOKO” dropping May 30, 2025, the Nigerian-born, UK-based creative steps boldly into the artist spotlight with the poise of an industry veteran and the hunger of a new voice.
Born Mayowa Adeyinka Orenuga, Yeankeyz is no stranger to the culture. Raised in the pulse of Lagos and mentored by legendary producer ID Cabasa, his roots run deep in the DNA of Nigerian music. From studio sessions with Olamide, Reminisce, Qdot, and 9ice, to building tracks with the late icon Sound Sultan, his fingerprints are already on the legacy. Now, the time has come for him to put his voice to it.
“KOKO is the message. It’s the real — stripped of noise, full of intent. It’s about what matters most, and I’m starting with that,” Yeankeyz says.
“KOKO” is not just a debut — it’s a declaration. Blending Afro-fusion with street-hop bounce and textured Lagos grit, the single is a fiery, introspective anthem that captures his journey from creative apprentice to cultural architect.
“ID Cabasa didn’t just teach us how to make music. He taught us how to build identity — how to lead with depth, not hype,” he reflects. “He laid the blueprint, and now I’m walking my own version of it.”
Now stationed in the UK, Yeankeyz is carrying the Lagos sound across borders — combining Nigerian energy with global strategy. As a multi-hyphenate creative (producer, brand designer, visual director), he’s building more than a career — he’s building an ecosystem.
“KOKO” is the first chapter in a rollout that includes an upcoming EP and full album — all layered with intent
ional soundscapes, personal storytelling, and visual clarity. It’s not about chasing trends. It’s about creating a legacy with flavour.
“The world is watching. Afrobeat is global now. But the real ones, the builders — we’ve been here. It’s time to speak louder.”
