Super Eagles Players Throws Blow Following Sudan Defeat

Members of the Nigerian national soccer team, Super Eagles, who have boasted about themselves as African Champions in an ostentatious way, were reportedly engaged in a face-saving action on their way back home this week Sunday, 12th of October, 2014, after a humiliating 0-1 loss to the Sudanese team.
According to a reliable inside source who informed statusand living.com, tension rose following a heated argument over the defeat as the players were being conveyed in the aircraft to Abuja, which led to alleged brief physical combat.
The source that was in the plane with the players told us that, to know the degree of the crisis, the assistant to Coach Stephen Keshi, Daniel Amokachi, was hit by an angry player who had targeted a different person.
Another source added that, the fight ensued not just because the Nigerian team lost the match but because they realized too the match loss meant they have lost 10,000 U.S. Dollars they would have received from the Federal Government if they'd won the match.
Besides, according to an observer, the apprehension was inevitable considering that the loss to a far junior team like the Sudan's also meant a big dent on Super Eagles' vaunted prestige.
Adding salt to their injury was another disgrace meted out to the team when they landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, around 9am. They were said to have been taunted and greeted with hisses by fans.
While all this was ongoing, we learnt that, Coach Stephen Keshi avoided the public.
He allegedly stayed away throughout the period.
