Emem Archibong Unveils New Single and Video “Promise”

New single release by Emem Archibong, the Nigerian-born, Bradford-based singing pharmacist.

“Promise” is an Easter-themed song about what Jesus did on the cross to make it possible for anyone who believes to come into a relationship with God. It speaks of God sending His Son to die on Calvary so that we can be forgiven and set free to spend eternity with Him.

The British-Nigerian songstress wrote and arranged the track with London-based producer Luke Grant.

The song reminds listeners that they are not promised an easy life after receiving Christ, but will receive strength, guidance, and peace to persevere and thrive despite adverse circumstances. The bridge draws on Biblical themes of being cleansed by His blood, filled by His Spirit, healed by His stripes, and redeemed by the power of the cross.

Aptly released to coincide with the Easter season, Emem explains, “The true meaning of Easter is found at the foot of the cross, where His blood shed builds a bridge between humans on earth and God in heaven.”

This release follows previous songs that have received coverage on blogs worldwide, radio airplay in America, Nigeria, and the UK, as well as TV airplay in the UK and Nigeria.

Continuing in the spirit of her recent releases, “Promise” is designed to uplift spirits with its upbeat tempo and invite reflection through its deep, meaningful lyrics. At its core, the song carries a message of redemption and an invitation to reconciliation with God.

“Promise” is available now on all major online music platforms, including Spotify and Amazon Music.
